In a press event in Mumbai, Oppo introduced the photography-centric 'F' series of smartphones, launching the mid-range Oppo F1 in the country.
The F series stems from a growing demand for premium-quality mobile photography from mid-range devices. Earlier this month, in a press statement, the company claimed that its research has indicated strong consumer recognition that its phones "shoot great photos."

Oppo also announced its expansion plans in India, with the company targeting 35,000 sales outlets and 180 official service centers. The Oppo F1 will be available with a "silk metal" back in golden rose and rose gold colors at ₹15,990 ($235), starting next week. The high spec variant of the F1, the F1 Plus, will be available in April for ₹26,990 ($400).
