BLU has launched yet another of its affordable Android smartphones, the Vivo 8. This 5.5-inch phone has a couple of interesting hardware features, including a pretty big battery and a 16 MP front-facing selfie camera.
The 4,010 mAh battery in the BLU Vivo 8 is supposed to make this phone last up to two days on a single charge. Also, the battery should take less than 90 minutes to fully charge up. The 16 MP front-facing camera includes hardware features such as an f/2.0 aperture, and a 1/3 inch sensor with 5P lens. It also has some features designed specifically for taking selfies, such as beautification software and a group selfie mode. The Vivo 8 also has a 13 MP rear camera with a Sony IMX258 sensor, along with features like an f/2.0 aperture, a 1/3 inch sensor with 5P lens, real-time HDR, and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) with Laser Focus.
Inside, the BLU Vivo 8 has MediaTek's Helio P10 octa-core 64-bit processor, running at 2.0 GHz. It has 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of onboard storage, and a microSD card slot for adding more storage. It has a fingerprint sensor on the front of the phone, and will have Android 7.0 Nougat installed out of the box. The phone is available in black or gold colors.
Normally, the BLU Vivo 8 is priced at $299.99 on Amazon, which is certainly pretty affordable for its hardware features. However, from August 31 to the end of the day of September 1, you can purchase the phone for just $199.99. Keep in mind that this unlocked phone will only work on GSM-based networks in the US, such at AT&T and T-Mobile.
