Although we have seen a few phones with 8 GB of RAM released this year, phones with 6 GB are more common on the market. Paired with a high-end chipset such as the Snapdragon 835, these 6 GB RAM smartphones are capable of handling just about any task without an issue.
If you're a power user, opting for a phone with 6 GB RAM is something you might want to consider. Although even 4 GB should get the job done just as well in most cases, having a little extra on board will give you peace of mind if you plan on keeping the device for a longer period of time.
If you don't know which phones with 6 GB RAM are worthy of your hard earned dollars, keep reading. To make your life just a bit easier, we've compiled a list of the best you can currently buy.
Phones with 6 GB RAM – what are your options?
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
The Galaxy Note 8 is currently one of the best phones with 6 GB RAM on the market — in fact, it's one of the best phones period. In addition to 6 GB of RAM, it also features the Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 chipset, a large curved display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and the popular S Pen.
The new Note is also dust and water-resistant thanks to its IP68 rating and is the company's first smartphone with a dual-camera setup. It has a metal frame and a glass back and features thin bezels around the screen, just like the Galaxy S8 series.
Despite the whole Note 7 fiasco, the smartphone is a hit among consumers. Thanks to the combination of great looks, high-end specs, and a bezel-less design, it has proven to be a lot more popular than its predecessor. The only problem is that the phablet is super-expensive, as the unlocked version goes for $930.

HTC U11
The HTC U11 was announced back in May and should handle just about anything you throw at it thanks to the Snapdragon 835 chipset and 6 GB of RAM it comes with. It's equipped with a unique feature called Edge Sense, which allows you to open an app of your choice just by squeezing its edges. In terms of design, the device is quite different than its predecessor and looks more like the other two smartphones from the U series — U Ultra and U Play.
The handset is resistant to water (IP67), has a 5.5-inch display, but doesn't have a headphone jack. However, it does ship with a pair of USB Type-C USonic headphones included in the box. It is available in silver and can be yours for $729. Overall, if your looking for phones with 6 GB RAM, this is one of your best options.

Huawei P10 Plus
The P10 Plus is Huawei's flagship device and in addition to 6 GB of RAM also comes with the Kirin 960 chipset and a 5.5-inch QHD display. It was announced back in February and goes head to head with devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, and Google Pixel XL, among others.
It has a metal body and quite a simple design but does come in a number of eye-catching colors including Dazzling Blue and Greenery. To keep up with the latest market trends, the handset features a Leica-branded dual-camera setup on the back that can capture those popular bokeh images.
Huawei didn't officially release the P10 Plus in the US, but you can still get it on Amazon. The price depends on the seller as well as the color but starts at around $640. For those in the states, there are probably other phones with 6 GB RAM we'd recommend over this, just for ease of acquisition, but this is still one heck of a phone.
Specs
- 5.5-inch IPS-NEO LCD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, 540 ppi
- HiSilicon Kirin 960
- 6 GB of RAM
- 128 GB of on-board storage, microSD expansion up to 256 GB
- Dual 20 and 12 MP rear cameras, 8 MP front camera
- Non-removable 3,750 mAh battery
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- 153.5 x 74.2 x 7 mm, 165 g

Honor 9
Announced in June, the Honor 9 is quite similar to the Huawei P10 in terms of specs but retails for much less. It's a high-end device with the Kirin 960 chipset and 6 GB of RAM under the hood and a dual-camera setup on the back.
In terms of design, the smartphone looks quite similar to the Honor 8, which is a good thing. It has a metal frame and a gorgeous reflective glass back that is quite attention-grabbing. There are a few different color options to choose from including Blue, Amber Gold, Gray, and Black.
The Honor 9 looks, feels, and performs as a flagship smartphone but is a lot more affordable than some of its competitors. The phone hasn't officially been released in the US, but you can still get it on Amazon for $500. Again, there are probably other phones with 6 GB RAM that would be easier to acquire, and it's very like the Honor 9 (or a variant ) will make its way stateside in the not too distant future.
Specs
- 5.15-inch IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 428 ppi
- HiSilicon Kirin 960
- 6 GB of RAM
- 64/128 GB of on-board storage, microSD expansion up to 256 GB
