Sony's flagship phones often struggle to sell in the U.S., but a new Best Buy promotion for the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact might attract a few more buyers.
The retail chain is offering a $100 Best Buy gift card with every purchase of an unlocked Xperia XZ2 or XZ2 Compact. The vanilla XZ2 retails for $799, while the Compact model has a $649 asking price.
You'll need a valid email address to receive the $100 gift card. The card will then be emailed to customers, either upon shipping or when the device is picked up in-store. Customers asked for email verification will need to respond to that message within 60 days to qualify for the offer, Best Buy says.
The Xperia flagships offer a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 19MP f/2.0 main camera, 960fps super slow motion, 3D scanning functionality, and IP68 water/dust resistance. Sony has also joined Apple, Lenovo, and Huawei in ditching the headphone jack with these devices.
Are the flagship phones worth buying though? In our Xperia XZ2 review, David Imel took umbrage with the "sub-par" cameras and "slippery" hardware design. However, he also called the device "a spec-lover's dream," praising the high-quality display, beefy internals, and stellar battery life.
