The official Motorola YouTube profile just posted a new video. The 11-seconds-long clip has no sound and simply shows text that says, "August 2, 2 PM, Motorola HQ Chicago."
Check out the clip below:
The description of the video is a bit more helpful when it comes to figuring out what Motorola has planned for this August event. Here's what it says, in full:
Mark your calendar. On August 2, we're making a big announcement at Motorola's HQ in Chicago. Say "hello" to a whole new way to connect, stream, download, video chat, and more. Are you ready?
What could this announcement be? It could be a new phone, like the Motorola One / Motorola One Power that leaked recently. Or maybe the Moto Z3 Force. But the description leads us to believe that this is something different entirely, i.e., not a smartphone.
Could it be some sort of new Moto Mod? Something that gets snapped on to a Motorola device that then…does something?
Maybe it's a Motorola-branded smart speaker or smart display, like the Amazon Echo Show? That would make some degree of sense with the reference to "say hello to a whole new way to connect, stream, download, video chat, and more."
