As one would expect, the Motorola Edge Plus price is high up in flagship territory, which makes sense since this is absolutely a flagship phone. If you were hoping for pricing more in line with the Moto G series, you're going to be disappointed.
Below, we have all the information we know about the Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus price, availability, and release date. If you're looking to buy one of these phones, everything you need is here.
Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus release date
Motorola officially revealed the Edge and Edge Plus on April 22, 2020. During that event, it said that you would be able to buy the phones on May 14, 2020. Indeed, the Motorola Edge Plus went on sale at Verizon and Motorola on May 14, but the cheaper Edge is still nowhere to be seen. As of June 2020, the phone's US price was just announced.
Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus availability
In the US, the Motorola Edge Plus is a Verizon-exclusive, meaning you will only be able to use it on the Verizon network. Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge will be made available in the summer as a universally unlocked phone, meaning you'll be able to use it with any carrier.
In Canada, the Motorola Edge Plus will be available at Bell, Rogers, TELUS, and Freedom Mobile. However, a release date for those carriers is uncertain.
The Motorola Edge Plus has also launched in India and will be available through e-commerce platform Flipkart as well as major offline stores starting May 26. Check the section below for pricing information.
Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus price
The Motorola Edge Plus price starts at $999. While that seems like a lot, this phone easily goes head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, making it seem like a bargain in comparison.
However, keep in mind that you're still locked to the Verizon network, which is likely a deal-breaker for a lot of people regardless of the price of the phone. If you buy from Verizon, you'll pay $41.66 each month for 24 months, unless you choose to pay outright.
Verizon also has some deals to entice customers to upgrade or switch. There are the usual trade-in discounts, the amount of which will vary depending on the device you're trading in and whether or not you are a current customer. If you are not on Verizon and want to switch, you can get a $150 Verizon e-gift card if you switch to one of the carrier's unlimited plans. You'll also get a Verizon Stream TV, an Amazon Echo Dot, and a smart plug.
The vanilla Motorola Edge with 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage will be available for $699.99 in the summer. It was previously said to be a Verizon exclusive, but now Motorola will release unlocked variants of the phone
In India, the Motorola Edge Plus is priced at Rs 74,999 (~$990) for the single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. You can now pre-order the flagship on Flipkart, while sales will start on May 26. Launch offers in the country include an instant Rs 7,500 (~$99) discount if purchased using ICICI Bank credit cards on Flipkart. Offline buyers will get the same amount as cashback if purchases are done using ICICI Bank credit cards.
