Coloring books have been around for ages. However, the idea of adults doing them to relieve stress is a fairly new concept. These days, it's more or less apropos to kids and adults alike to crack open a coloring book. There are tons of coloring book apps on Android. Admittedly, this genre could use a little work. Even so, there are some pretty decent ones that should be a lot of fun. Here are the best coloring book apps for Android!

App Labs Games is a developer on Google Play. They have a ton of coloring book apps available. Most of them are general use coloring book apps while a few of them have themes such as autumn, animals, family oriented, and art. The mechanics are pretty basic and the reviews for most of their apps are fairly positive. They are also generally free with some advertising. It's a nifty little collection of apps for those who like to color.
Adult Coloring Book is an aptly named app. It's a coloring book for adults. It features a simple interface, a tap to color mechanic, and there are tons of images that you can play with. Additionally, you can add filters, use paint, and personalize your color palette. That gives you some creative options to make your coloring more fun and unique. Unlike many, it's completely free to download and use. The ads are a bit bothersome, but otherwise it's a positive experience.
Colorfly brands itself as a color therapy app. In reality, it's just one of the better coloring book apps out there. You'll be able to do a variety of things, including the typical tap-to-color style. The app also has a decent selection of images with more added every couple of weeks. It's a lot like Adult Coloring Book, except this one lets you buy some stuff too. You can download the app for free if you want to check it out.
Colorfy is one of the more popular coloring book apps. It features a metric ton of content, including florals, patterns, mandalas, cats, gardens, and even famous paintings that you can color. Like most, you can customize your color palette, save images, and share them as you please. There is also an optional subscription that gives you access to more features and images. We're not crazy about coloring book apps using subscriptions, but the free version of this is pretty good.
Coloring Book 2017 won't win any awards for imagination when it comes to their name. However, the app itself is pretty decent. There are plenty of images to get you started and the developers are promising that more are coming soon. Perhaps the best part of this app is that it's completely free to download. Aside from a few ads, it also stays out of your way. There are a few issues, such as an inability to save (you'll have to share to Google Drive to save your finished work), but otherwise it's not too bad.
Colorfit is a developer with several coloring book apps and drawing apps on the market. Unlike many coloring book apps which try to fit everything into a single experience, Colorfit has specific coloring books for things like animals, mandalas, gardens, and other themes. The drawing apps are also pretty decent if you want to try your hand in those. All of the apps are free to download with optional in-app purchases. Hit the download button to check out their entire collection.
ColorMe is one of the more popular free coloring book apps. It boasts a collection of over 100 pages with a variety of themes. It also has a few categories that aren't seen often, such as Zodiacs, Oriental, and patterns. Aside from that, it's a fairly simple app. You choose your colors, tap the shapes to fill them in, and then share when you're done. The developers have also stated that they're working on things like gradient options and other new features. The app is completely free to download and use. They also boast no advertising.
Colory is a featured packed coloring book app with a lot going for it. It comes with over 500 images and patterns spread out across 11 categories. You can customize your color palette, save your work to finish later (an oddly uncommon feature), and the app includes offline support. It also boasts being good for kids and adults. It is also updated frequently with new images. The app is free to download with advertising.
Free Coloring Book for Adults is a simple, if ineffectively named coloring book app. It handles the basics pretty well. There are images to color, a color palette, and the mechanics are about what you'd expect. It features enough images to play with for a while and it's all completely free. There are some ads here and there but nothing too major. There aren't really many features that set it apart from the competition, but it's a solidly done app that works pretty well.
InColor is probably the most powerful coloring book app on the list. It handles the basics as well as you would expect. Additionally, the app offers Google Drive sync support, gradient support, an eyedropper tool so you can re-use custom colors, and even frames that you can put around your work when it's done. You can use the basic features of the app for free and there is an optional subscription that offers more features. If we're being honest, you should try this one first. It's good.
