Here’s a first look at the Motorola One Action (Update: Pricing, images leak)

Update, August 7, 2019 (12:52 PM ET): A German Amazon listing for a Motorola One Vision appeared recently. Although the name of the listing was for the previously-released device, the specs, photos, and information in the listing were actually for the Motorola One Action — which hasn't been released yet.

Luckily, WinFuture spotted the listing and jotted down most of the info. As expected, all the specs leaked (as seen in the original article below) appear to be correct, including 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 3,500mAh battery, etc.

The listing also had some new photos:

#gallery-16 { margin: auto; } #gallery-16 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-16 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-16 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

The device looks just like we expected from previously-leaked renders.

It's very likely Motorola will officially reveal the Motorola One Action at IFA in September. Stay tuned!

Previous coverage, July 19, 2019 (10:47 AM ET): Recently, via 91Mobiles, we got our first look at the upcoming Motorola One Action, an Android One device. It follows the Motorola One Vision and will also likely be paired with another device we expect to be called the Motorola One Pro.

Overall, the design and specs of the Motorola One Action are very similar to the One Vision. The major difference between the two devices is that the Action variant appears to have a triple-lens rear camera setup, while the Vision only had two lenses.

See the leaked renders for yourself below:

From the renders, we can assume that the One Action will feature a rear fingerprint sensor with the Motorola logo, the Android One logo at the bottom, a USB-C port next to a single speaker grille, and a punch-hole camera on the front. These are all similar to what we saw on the One Vision.

Editor's Pick

However, according to 91Mobiles, the One Action will actually be a cheaper variant of the Motorola One line, even though the Action sports an extra camera lens. Motorola will cut corners with the One Action by substituting a plastic build for the glass build of the One Vision as well as dropping the amount of RAM and internal storage.

Speaking of specs, we learned a bit more about the device from its listings on the Google Play Console and Android Enterprise Recommended list, via XDA Developers.

A render of the device also appeared on the Play Console's Device Catalog; however, it only shows the front of the device and looks the same as the renders above.

These listings appear to confirm some of the specs for the Motorola One Action. Although these specs are likely accurate, we won't know for certain until Motorola actually launches the device. That being said, here's what to expect:

  • Samsung Exynos 9609 processor
  • 6.3-inch, 21:9 FHD+ display (2,520×1,080)
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 128GB of internal storage
  • NFC support
  • Android 9 Pie (based on Android One)

Although not listed in the Play Console, we have heard rumors that the battery capacity will be 3,500mAh.

The reduction of internal specs and build quality while simultaneously upgrading the rear camera is a curious move by Motorola. It makes one wonder how consumers will choose between two devices with such confusing differences.

Hopefully, the rumored Motorola One Pro will bring all the best elements of the devices together into one.

Motorola hasn't announced the One Action yet, so we don't know much else about the device, although we can assume it will launch sometime in July.
