Super Bowl LIV is less than a week away. Even if you aren't a football fan, there are two reasons you still might want to tune in: the halftime show and the commercials. Google released its upcoming Super Bowl commercial ahead of the big game and you can check it out now. But a word of warning, you will probably cry.
This year's commercial is titled "Loretta," and it focuses on what Google Assistant can do for an elderly man after the loss of his wife. The man uses Google Assistant to show him photos of his late wife, Loretta, and asks it to help him remember important details about their life together he may otherwise forget, presumably due to his age.

We know Google Assistant is great at playing music, setting tea timers, and answering all of your off the wall questions. But what makes this Super Bowl commercial truly special is how it highlights how Google Assistant can be there for someone struggling with two major life struggles — the loss of their loved ones and the loss of their memory.
It also tells customers that Google Assistant isn't just some new technology for young people to put in all of their home appliances and devices. It can be an incredibly useful accessibility tool for people of all ages and walks of life. All in all, this is a genuinely good commercial that helps people imagine what Google Assistant can do for them and their loved ones.
Now, let's hope the rest of this year's Super Bowl commercials don't let us down.
