It's Black Friday in July all over again. Amazon just announced the second edition of Prime Day, its massive shopping event open exclusively to Prime subscribers.
Prime Day 2016 is happening on July 12. Like last year, Amazon will offer thousands of deals throughout the day on products ranging from toys to big-screen TVs. Over 100,000 deals will be offered to Prime subscribers in U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, Belgium, and Austria. In the US, the deals fest will open on July 12, at midnight PT.
Don't miss: Is Amazon Prime really worth it?
Amazon says last year's Prime Day was a big success, touting the 400 items customers ordered every second. But the retail giant appears to have learned some lessons from Prime Day 2015, when many customers complained that the good deals ran out in seconds. Greg Greeley, VP of Prime said that this time Amazon "dramatically increased the inventory behind many deals." The stock of TV sets in particular is said to be double the inventory from Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. Plus, twice as many sellers are participating this year, across a wide range of product categories.
Leading in to Prime Day, Amazon is drumming up the event with "countdown deals" starting on July 5. For instance, you will be able to buy a 32-inch TV and Fire TV Stick bundle for just $119.99. "Gadgets on-the-go, products perfect for summer travel, for foodies and outdoor living, back-to-school and in-home essentials and daily deals on top of TV series and blockbuster movies" are also on the menu.
Prime Day is exclusive to customers who subscribe to Amazon's 99$/year Prime service, which gets you free shipping, movies, music, books and more, plus discounts on certain Android devices.
If you're not a Prime subscriber, you can try the service for free for one month – just sign up on or before July 12 to gain access to the Prime Day deals bonanza.
