What is Pokémon Masters?

Pokémon Masters is a single player mobile game from Japanese developer DeNA. It focuses primarily on Pokémon trainers and their relationship with a single Pokémon, rather than collecting and leveling a variety of Pokémon. Check out the overview video above for more details.

When is the Pokémon Masters release date?

A Pokémon Masters release date hasn't been announced yet, but it is coming in Summer 2019. You can pre-register now to receive a notification when it is released. Stay tuned for more details soon.

Where does Pokémon Masters take place?

Pokémon Masters takes place on the artificial island of Pasio, somewhere in the Pokémon universe. Trainers and their favorite Pokémon from across the world have gathered on the island for the Pokémon Masters League.

Is Pokémon Masters free-to-play?

Pokémon Masters is free-to-start, meaning that part (or all) of the game will be free, but some in-app-purchases may speed up progress.

What is combat like in Pokémon Masters?

Combat is real-time in Pokémon Masters. Your team of three Pokémon trainers and their Pokémon face off against another team of three controlled by a computer opponent. Trainers can also get in on the action by using abilities that buff or heal their Pokémon. Players can also combine attacks with the two other team members to unleash powerful sync attacks.

There are also co-op battles where each player controls a single sync pair. Check out the video above for more details on battling in Pokémon Masters.

Which trainers are in Pokémon Masters?

Pokémon trainers from Red and Blue to Sun and Moon can be found in Pokémon Masters, including Brock, Misty, Cynthia, Flannery, Thorton, and Korrina. Even Red and Blue themselves make an appearance. Each trainer has a signature Pokémon, but special outfits called Sygna Suits can be equipped to change their selected Pokémon. As an example, when Brock wears a Sygna Suit he is accompanied by a Tyranitar instead of Onix.

Does Pokémon Masters have online multiplayer?

Pokémon Masters has a co-op mode which lets you team up with two other players in 3V3 battles against AI opponents.

It's still early days, but so far we haven't seen any sign of an online mode for battling friends. We'll know for sure soon.

Is Pokémon Masters linked to Pokémon Go?

Not that we've seen so far. DeNA's new game appears to be its own beast (or should we say pocket monster) that may not have any link with Niantic's hit AR game.
