Update, November 25, 2019 (10:18 AM ET): Earlier this month, OnePlus announced the stable Oxygen OS version 10.0 based on Android 10 for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T was on its way. Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen issues, the company had to pause the update while it sorted everything out.
Weeks later, OnePlus finally confirmed the Android 10 update should officially be on its way to OnePlus 6 and 6T devices soon. Right now, it is awaiting CTS approval. If all goes smooth, users should expect the update next week.

OnePlus 6 and 6T update

The OnePlus 6T launched towards the end of 2018 with the latest version of Android, Android 9 Pie. It's expected to receive at least two major Android updates in the future.
Based on OnePlus' recent updates, and the fact that the OnePlus 6T is a certified Android Q beta device, the phone is likely to receive the final version of Android Q shortly after it's released.
The OnePlus 6 arrived with Android Oreo but was updated to Android Pie within six weeks of it being released.
OnePlus announced Oxygen OS 9.0.8 for the OnePlus 6 and Oxygen OS 9.0.16 for the OnePlus 6T in August.
In addition to the usual bug fixes and stability improvements, the update brought Fnatic Mode which debuted on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Fnatic Mode is like Gaming Mode on steroids, giving gamers the maximum performance possible during play.
It also updated the Android security patch of the phones to August 2019, added DC dimming, and brought in additional Zen Mode features.
