This week in Apple news we saw a rumor suggesting internal talks at the company could lead to a delayed launch for the iPhone 12 series. Obviously, the delay would be due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which makes production and sales difficult with people losing jobs and not really planning on spending $1,000 on smartphones.
In other Apple news, we also saw rumors about image stabilization in the iPhone 12 series, when we might see an iPhone with periscope zoom, Apple's rumored AR glasses, and some news about the Apple TV Plus streaming service.

The top Apple news stories of the past week:
- iPhone 12 launch could see an extensive delay: We fully expect Apple to reveal the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max in September 2020. However, according to Nikkei Asian Review, that launch might be delayed by months. According to anonymous sources speaking with the publication, Apple has held internal discussions on the possibility due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and its effect on consumers and the smartphone supply chain. However, it should be noted that at least one supply chain company refuted this rumor.
- Sensor-shift image stabilization might be included with iPhone 12 devices: Although the launch of the phones is up in the air, when the iPhone 12 series does land, at least one of the phones might come with "sensor-shift image stabilization," according to frequent Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kuo. Theoretically, this would make images and videos captured with the ultra-wide lens on iPhones much more stable.
- You might need to wait a while for a periscope lens, though: A few Android phones have had periscope zoom as a feature, and Apple might jump on the bandwagon. However, the rumor mill says that won't happen until 2022, which seems like a long time to push out something that already exists.
- Rumored AR glasses might also come in 2022: Speaking of 2022, Apple's rumored AR glasses are still allegedly under development. According to DigiTimes (via MacRumors), they won't arrive until 2022, based on reports from companies within the Apple supply chain.
- Online COVID-19 tool goes live: Apple today released a website that you can use to help determine whether or not you are infected with COVID-19. Anyone can use the tool, not just Apple users. It doesn't replace a full medical test, but it should help you determine your best next course of action should you feel ill.
- Apple TV Plus lowers streaming quality: Netflix and YouTube have recently lowered streaming quality to take less strain off servers as more and more people spend all day at home. Apple TV Plus followed suit, at least in Europe.
