What's new on Hulu in May 2020? Only a new animated series from the co-creator of Rick and Morty, a new historical comedy about Catherine the Great, and much more. Solar Opposites (May 8)
This new animated sci-fi comedy comes from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. He and this show's co-creator Mike McMahan (the upcoming Star Trek: Lower Decks) bring us this adult series about four aliens stranded on Earth in a suburban town. We have seen this kind of show or movie before (Coneheads, Third Rock from the Sun), but it should be very entertaining to see what Roiland and McMahan bring to the table.
The Great (May 15)
The Great is a historical series that plays a bit loose with the facts, but could still be fun to watch. Elle Fanning plays Catherine the Great, who rose to become Russia's longest-running female ruler in the late 18th century. This version of her story may not be historically accurate, but the trailers make it look like it's entertaining, especially with Nicholas Hoult playing Catherine's husband, Peter III.
Other highlights of Hulu in May 2020 include the second season of the comedy Ramy on May 29. It once again stars Ramy Youssef, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Comedy or Musical for the first season of the show. We also get the latest monthly Into the Night horror short film, Delivered, which "celebrates" Mother's Day by telling the tale of a very nasty nanny.
