Even as they discuss axing higher data-users, Verizon is making new options available for people who consume substantial amounts of content on the go. Their new family plan provides 16GB of data on 4 lines with a price point of $150 per month.
As part of the promotion accompanying the unveiling of this plan, Verizon is throwing in an extra 2Gb of data onto each line for every upgrade or activation. Furthermore, each new line you activate comes eligible for a free Samsung Galaxy J3 V. It may not be the hottest phone on the market, but if you're not paying anything for it, why not?

It's a great device for first-time smartphone owners, as it has an easy mode that makes navigating it a breeze. If you're switching from another carrier to verizon, you may also be eligible for up to $650 to pay off your old phone or break any existing contracts.
Verizon is taking advantage of this promotion to reinforce their dominant position in the mobile marketplace. They're quick to report that they have invested over $5 billion in their network in the first half of 2016 alone, and that they've thrown somewhere in the neighborhood of $116 billion into network improvement and development since 2000.
