Here's your daily tech digest, by way of the very-good-never-bad DGiT Daily newsletter, for Wednesday, April 24, 2019!

Also, please do subscribe! We'd love to be in your inbox. I keep saying that 102,000+ others might be wrong, but …they're more likely right, right?

1. "Avengers: Endgame" reviews are out – spoiler-free!

Avengers Endgame poster

Reviews for Marvel's "Avengers: Endgame," have dropped ahead of this weekend's finale for the series and we have only the absolutely spoiler-free reviews, in case you need every reason to get along..

  • Now, IGN's review comes with a very sensible disclaimer that should be applied to all reviews you might see:
  • "This is a SPOILER-FREE review of Avengers: Endgame, but honestly, you probably still shouldn't read it.If you're already sold on this movie, go see it, come back, and let's compare notes. If you're not, read on for some reasons why you should be."

With that in mind, click if you dare:

Bonus: A brave CNET reporter is currently watching all 59 hours of Marvel MCU movies, and there's a video check-in at the 9-hour stage.

2. Marsquake (!)

The Mars InSight lander has sent back a piece of a puzzle that creates a whole new branch of science: interplanetary earthquakes have likely been detected.

  • NASA announced yesterday that the first likely seismological event on another planet has been detected and measured by the Mars InSight rover, courtesy of special probes, on April 6, Sol 128, or the lander's 128th Martian day.
  • NASA scientists say Mars doesn't have active plate tectonics, and may not have ever had active tectonics, which makes the source of the quaking intriguing – it's thought to be related to stress from the planet cooling.
  • The magnitude of the quake was small – too small to really learn much about the deep interior of Mars just yet.
  • The first geological robot to explore another world is also expected to take the temperature of subsurface Mars to understand internal heat and piece more about the Red Planet together
  • Listen to the quake (YouTube).

Marsquakes might match Moonquakes:

  • "The Martian Sol 128 event is exciting because its size and longer duration fit the profile of moonquakes detected on the lunar surface during the Apollo missions," said Lori Glaze, Planetary Science Division director at NASA Headquarters.
  • NASA first discovered moonquakes with the Apollo missions, after seismometers were left on the moon from 1969 through 1972.
  • Moonquakes are weak, but can last up to an hour.
  • Long live this age of discovery!
