Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Whether you're a casual gamer or you want something with a bit more meat on its bones, there's usually a game coming out to suit everyone's taste. Some months are better than others, but there is usually at least one great new game on mobile every month. Let's take a look at the best new Android games from the last month! Gears POP!

Gears POP! launched at the very tail end of August. It was one of the more anticipated new Android games from E3 2019. Players engage in PvP battles with their favorite characters from Gears of War. The game boasts 30 characters to collect, online PvP action, league play, and a PvE mode for those who like to hammer on bots. It's a surprisingly simple game without a whole ton of depth. However, the arcade nature works well for shorter play sessions. The biggest letdown for this game is that it is entirely online PvP and it's also a free to play game. That means you can pay money for an advantage. If that's something you're not into, you may want to skip this one.
Human Heroes Einstein's Clock

Human Heroes Einstein's Clock is an educational kid's game revolving around time, the flow of time, and Albert Einstein. This game has surprisingly high production quality for a kid's game on mobile. Einstein is voiced by the venerable Stephen Fry who does a great job with the whole thing. Kids learn about time, including how to tell time, how time flows forward, and some introductory stuff into the more complex properties of time itself. The game is part of a larger series so we hope to see more from this developer eventually. Most of the complaints stem from the occasional bug and adults wondering why a game aimed at children isn't as engaging as they thought it would be as an adult.
Pokemon Masters

Pokemon Masters is one of the larger new Android games from September 2019. It's by DeNA, the same developers of Final Fantasy Record Keeper and Attack on Titan Tactics, each fairly popular among those title's respective fan bases. Pokemon Masters doesn't play like a traditional Pokemon game. You team up with other trainers to take on teams of trainers. This three versus three combat structure is a little different in the Pokemon universe, but not by much because some of the main games feature multi-trainer battles. In any case, this game definitely doesn't have the depth of a true Pokemon game, but it's not bad for a mobile game. We do like that the game has cooperative play, though.
Rush Wars

Rush Wars is another one of the bigger new Android games releases from Supercell, developers of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. It's another strategy game from a studio that does a lot of strategy games. However, this one also has tower defense elements as well. The game also includes the dreaded loot boxes and some other elements. Unfortunately, the game is only available in a handful of countries while it's in beta and, thus, we couldn't try it out. However, we'll update you when the game officially launches everywhere. For now, it's only available in Finland, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
Saint Seiya Awakening: Knights of the Zodiac

Saint Seiya Awakening: Knights of the Zodiac is a mobile game remake of a manga series that ran in the late 1980's. The game seems like it runs through the story in the manga so fans of the series are getting source material instead of a side story like most mobile game remakes of older properties. However, it does keep the usual gacha mechanics and you can summon basically all of the characters from the series. The voice overs are pretty decent and the soundtrack is surprisingly good. The game mechanics are strategy RPG so nothing new there, really. It's a great game for fans of the series, but there are some complaints with the mechanics, subtitles, and some other minor elements here and there.
Sugar Blast

Sugar Blast answers the question of what it would be like if the creators of Angry Birds did a Candy Crush Saga style game. That is exactly what this game is. Rovio launched this game in early September to somewhat positive reviews. It's a match-three arcade puzzle game with a lot of the same elements we see in other such games. You match up colors, get points, and use power-ups to help you along the way. The game features a metric ton of levels, various abilities and power-ups, and limited time events to help keep things fresh. It's not half bad for a match three title and the Google Play reviews are surprisingly positive considering how derivative the game is. Match three fans should try it.
This Is the Police 2

This Is the Police 2 is the sequel to the well received This Is the Police. It's a strategy-simulation game with retro graphics and a decent amount of depth. You play as a police officer and you must deal with things like crime, criminal cases, interoffice politics, lazy coworkers, and all kinds of other obstacles. You're basically managing the life of a cop in a sort of Noir setting. The decisions you make may even land you in prison. Most of the complaints for this one revolve around a black screen error that was hopefully fixed in an update. The game itself is a bit dry, but entertaining for people who enjoy the challenge of these types of games. It's a tad pricey, but there are no additional in-app purchases.
Total Party Kill

Total Party Kill is a funny little puzzler with a fantasy RPG theme. You play as a party of heroes traversing various dungeons. However, instead of running around fighting bad guys, you're solving simple puzzles. The catch is that you basically have to kill off your party to solve all of them. That may involve something like throwing them into a pit of spikes and using their corpses to cross the pit yourself. The humor is rather dark and those averse to violence may want to skip this one. It's one of the darker, more gory new Android games. The ads in the free version aren't great, but the premium version is not too expensive.
Tropico
Price: $11.99
Tropico is a country-building simulator. It's like a city building sim but for a whole country. You end up the president of a fictional island in the Caribbean and you must bring it back from the brink of disaster. That includes modernizing the city, dealing with malcontents, and managing public opinion. You have the freedom to turn your little country into whatever you want it to be. You can make it a tourist paradise or a police state or both if you prefer. It's a port of an older PC game and the port has its problems, but nothing too serious. It's rather expensive at $11.99, but there are no additional in-app purchases.
Witcheye
Price: $2.99
Witcheye is a retro-style platformer with some fun mechanics. You play as a witch and some jerk stole all of your stuff. You turn into an eyeball and wander around levels, clear out obstacles, and hunt down your treasure. The game features over 50 levels, simple mechanics, decent on-screen controls, and a varied soundtrack. Some of the late game mechanics make things like movement a little annoying, but it's all part of the challenge. The game actually has very few missteps unless you really don't like the genre to begin with. The game is better than its 1,000 installs would suggest. Its $2.99 price tag makes it one of the more reasonably priced new Android games.
