The apparent Asus ROG Phone 3 leaked on China's TENAA website earlier this week, giving us a ton of information and showing off images of the device.
Now, regular Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station has posted two images, with one apparently showing the ROG Phone 3 in the wild. This picture only shows the back of the phone, but we can make out what appears to be a triple rear camera setup as well as what could be "64MP quad bayer" branding.
In other words, it looks like the Asus ROG Phone 3 indeed sports a 64MP primary camera, capable of delivering 16MP pixel-binned shots. We previously saw a dual camera arrangement on the ROG Phone 2 (48MP+13MP ultra-wide), so hopefully the third camera is a handy telephoto shooter here rather than a depth or macro sensor.
It's also interesting to note the Tencent Games branding on the phone, suggesting that we're looking at a special edition variant here. The Tencent-branded ROG Phone 2 was significantly cheaper than the standard model and was largely limited to China. So it looks like we could see a similar scenario with the new phone. If this is indeed a Tencent edition, then it likely won't be easily available outside China.
The second photo posted by Digital Chat Station (seen above) shows an apparent Asus ROG Phone 3, packing what could be a 3.5mm port at the bottom. We're a little skeptical of this image though, as the TENAA listing specifically notes that there's no headphone port. Furthermore, the camera flash seems different when comparing the two pictures. So this could either be a fake image or simply the non-Tencent branded ROG Phone 3. But it would be a shame if one variant got a headphone port and the other didn't.
In any event, the new phone is looking like an absolute beast, with the TENAA listing revealing an overclocked Snapdragon 865 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 6,000mAh battery. Hopefully we see the return of features like air triggers and a 120Hz refresh rate too.
