Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Whether you're a casual gamer or you want something with a beat more meat on its bones, there's usually a game coming out to suit everyone's taste. Let's take a look at the best new Android games from the last month! You can watch the videos on YouTube from passed months by clicking here!
Bridge Constructor Portal launched to positive fanfare. The game combines the puzzle building of Bridge Constructor with the quirky characters, environments, and other elements of the popular Portal franchise. Players build bridges for vehicles to travel through. There are obstacles and various dangers to overcome as well. This is an early candidate for game of the year. It also features a flat price, no in-app purchases, and no advertising. It's really quite good.
Geometry Dash SubZero is the latest game in the popular platformer franchise. It features many of the same mechanics as previous titles. It combines runner and platformer mechanics along with some rhythm game mechanics for good measure. The game features a few different levels, a decent soundtrack, and a practice mode. It's one of the few good free games with no in-app purchases.
Gunstar Heroes is the latest SEGA Forever game. This one is an action platformer. It features a bunch of levels, boss fights, a little bit of a story, hardware controlelr support, and even local multiplayer over Wi-Fi. There are several weapon types of choose from as well. The game works well enough without a ton of bugs or issues. It's the kind of retro shooter that newer retro shooters pay odes to. It's free to play with advertising. The full, ad-free version goes for $1.99.
HQ Trivia is a massively popular quiz game. It came out on iOS late last summer. Its Android release was New Years Even. The game is only active about 12 times per week. Players play live with a real host for real money. Those left after 12 questions split the winnings via PayPal. Its still in an unreleased state. That means it's still in beta. The game is buggy and laggy, but not bad enough to be unpleasant to play. It's also entirely free for now. It's a good time.
Jellynauts is the latest game from Yodo1 games. Its a hack-and-slash game with some very minor MOBA elements. You and teammates battle against opponents. It features a five versus five battle mode, a free for all mode, and a bunch of weapon combinations. The game is unreleased. Thus, it's in beta. There are some bugs, but nothing serious. This will likely be another super popular title from Yodo1.
Lotus Digital is an interesting atmospheric puzzle-combat game. Players add pedals to flowers on the playing field. The goal is to defend those flowers from your opponents. It features good looking graphics, online multiplayer, single player mode, simple mechanics, and more. It goes for $4.99 with no in-app purchases (for now, anyway). That may be a bit pricey for this particular game, but that's ultimately up to you.
Portal Knights is a holdover from December's releases. It's okay, though, because this game is actually quite good. It's a sandbox action RPG. It features a ton of game play mechanics, including traveling to other randomly generated worlds, crafting, combat, various weapons and armor to find, and a lot more. It also features local multiplayer over WiFi with up to four total players. It's $4.99 with no in-app purchases. No freemium elements is rare in this genre and space.
Prizefighters is a new boxing game. It features a lot of graphical and mechanic similarities to arcade and console boxing games from the 1990's. You basically fight another person in the center of a ring. There isn't much movement, but it has that fun, high pace arcade feeling. The game also has customization elements, stat progression, and more. It's free with in-app purchases. That's not ideal, but it's still a good time killer.
Rusty Lake Paradise is a new point-and-click adventure game. This one is the third game in the premium (paid) Rusty Lake series. It features narrative-driven game play, simple mechanics, pleasant graphics, and a lot more. The game revolves around an island, a bunch of plagues, and a mother's memories. This is another early low-key entrant for game of the year. However, we do encourage you to check out the previous games as well. This one runs for a very reasonable $2.99 with no in-app purchases.
Vignettes is the latest game from Noodlecake Games. This one is a unique little puzzle game. You rotate and move an object around. It creates other objects and solves the puzzle. There are a variety of objects and levels to complete. Its hallmark feature is its super simple graphics and mechanics. This one should be playable on most devices, even low end ones. The game costs $2.99 with no in-app purchases or advertisements. That's not unreasonable for what you get.
