Thought the Mi Band 4 was cheap? An even cheaper Mi Band is coming

The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C is coming as an alternative to the standard Mi Band 4.

The Xiaomi Mi Band series are among the most affordable fitness trackers around, offering most of the features you'd expect from pricier wearables. The range has been creeping up in price over time, but it looks like Xiaomi could be returning to its cheaper roots soon.

According to frequent leaker Xiaomishka (h/t: Wareable), the company is working on a Mi Band 4C. The tipster spotted the name and model number HMSH01GE on what appears to be TUV Rheinland's website.

Xiaomishka notes that this model number previously appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website, listing it as the Redmi Band fitness tracker. Taken together, this means that the Mi Band 4C will actually be the Redmi Band.

The Redmi Band starts at 99 yuan (~$14) in China, although we're expecting a slight price increase if it leaves its home market. Nevertheless, the upcoming fitness band should still be cheaper than the Mi Band 4's ~$33 price.

Other notable Redmi Band features include 1.08-inch color screen, sleep tracking, heart-rate monitoring, sedentary reminders, and a claimed battery life of two weeks.

Xiaomi is no stranger to rebranding Redmi devices for global markets though, as the Redmi K20 series in China and India became the Xiaomi Mi 9T series in Europe. We also saw the Redmi K30 4G in China become the Poco X2 in India.
