Disney Plus in April 2020 is going to have some surprise debuts in terms of new content. Look for the latest Pixar movie, along with two new nature documentaries and more new episodes of Disney Plus original TV shows. Onward (April 3)
Surprise! Thanks to the coronavirus outbreak shutting down most movie theaters in March, Disney decided to release its latest Pixar theatrical film, Onward, well ahead of schedule on Disney Plus. The movie is set in a fantasy land where magic once ruled, but it's now almost gone. Two elf brothers, voiced by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, discover a magic gem that brought back the bottom half of their dead father. They can bring back the top half, and speak to their deceased dad, but only if they find another magic gem within a day.
Disneynature's Elephant and Dolphin Reef (April 3)
Earth Day is April 22, but Disney Plus in April 2020 is celebrating the day all month long. In addition to adding more nature films and TV shows, it will debut two all-new documentaries on April 3 via the Disneynature division. One is Elephant, which follows a family of elephants as they cross 1,000 miles in the African wilderness. It will be narrated by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.
The other is Dolphin Reef, which depicts the ocean life under the reef located in the Polynesian islands. It is narrated by Natalie Portman.
