The Galaxy Note 20 release date might have just leaked

  • Two leaks strongly suggest that we'll see the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series launch on August 5.
  • Allegedly, the Galaxy Unpacked event could be online-only for obvious reasons.
  • Other devices will probably launch at Galaxy Unpacked, maybe even including the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.

Although we are still waiting patiently for the launch of the Google Pixel 4a, the next big smartphone release we are expecting is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series. Samsung usually releases the Note line in August each year at an event called Galaxy Unpacked.

Today, we heard from two different leakers (via Droid-Life) who both suggest the 2020 iteration of Galaxy Unpacked could happen on August 5. That would mean we would see the Galaxy Note 20 series officially land on that date.

For obvious reasons, the event will likely be online-only. This would be a big shift for Samsung which usually holds Unpacked events in huge event spaces reserved for concerts and sporting events.

Now, keep in mind that this is not official information. It's possible that Galaxy Unpacked will be on a completely different date. However, an August 5 launch for the Note 20 lineup makes perfect sense to us.

Allegedly, Samsung could also launch a lot of other products during the event, the most notable of which being the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. There could also be a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 tablet as well as a new Samsung Galaxy Watch 2. However, the Note 20 phones will undoubtedly be the stars of the show and occupy the most stage time.

For now, pencil in a release date of August 5. It could change, but that's what erasers are for.
