LG Display is betting big on OLED and flexible displays for the future and the company is showcasing an 18-inch display prototype that you can bend and roll at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. The idea has been in the concept stages for a while, but LG is finally ready to reveal it.
The rollable "newspaper" display is now a working prototype, but isn't necessary how LG sees all future computing products. The company envisions that its flexible, bendable OLED technology will be used in future smartphones, tablets and TVs. We have already seen a little about what LG may have in mind with its curved LG Flex range of smartphones. A number of display manufacturers, including Samsung and Sharp, are working on similar bendable technologies.
Furthermore, LG is also planning to show off a 25-inch curved screen installed inside a car. This will be on display in its Auto Zone section at CES. LG also has a "paper thin" 55-inch TV to showcase, which houses its key electronic components in a separate body, along with the LG Gram, the world's lightest 15-inch laptop.

We are bound to see much more from LG's flexible displays in the coming months and years. Let's hope that we see some of these interesting product ideas go from a prototype to reality too.
