Google releases new, more reliable Cast SDK version 3.0

A few months ago at Google I/O 2016, Google announced its newer, more reliable Google Cast SDK version 3.0. If you're a developer and have been waiting to get your hands on the new SDK, you're in luck. Now Google is making the version 3.0 SDK available for Android and iOS Senders.

Full documentation for the new release, as well as sample apps and codelab tutorials for both platforms are now available too.

So what does this new release bring? The new release of Cast SDK v3.0 significantly improve the amount of code it takes to integrate Cast into your Android and iOS sender apps, while making Cast more reliable to maintain. These framework APIs were re-designed to be more consistent across both Android and iOS platforms. The new SDK also provides new UI widgets that comply with the Cast UX design checklist. a Cast notification and lockscreen controller for Android devices, and much more.
