At IFA 2016, Asus showed off its high-end Android tablet called the ZenPad 3S 10. With its 4:3 aspect ratio, aluminum body with a thickness of only 5.5 mm and the "world's thinnest bezel", it offers a great alternative to Apple's iPad Air for the Android crowd. According to Asus North America, the ZenPad 3S 10 will launch Stateside "this month".
See also: Best cheap Android tablets To refresh your memory, the device packs a 9.7-inch QXGA display (2,048 by 1,536 pixels) with a 78 percent screen-to-body ratio, a hexa-core MediaTek 8176 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 32 or 64 GB of storage with microSD expansion.
The ZenPad 3S 10 also boasts a fingerprint sensor as well as great audio, thanks to the dual speakers with DTS HD Premium Sound and support for 24-bit, 192kHz audio via compatible devices. A 5,900 mAh fast charging battery keeps the lights on, but you'll need a "sold separately" 18W adapter for that.
An 8 MP primary camera should produce decent enough images and there's a 5 MP selfie camera on board as well. Android 6.0 runs the show, but we expect that Asus will soon be updating it to the latest version of Nougat.
The ZenPad 3S 10 will soon be available in the US, with sales starting sometime this month. This will be the second tablet that the Taiwan-based company will release in the US this fall, the first being the Verizon exclusive ZenPad Z10.
Although Asus hasn't yet revealed the price of the device, a product pre-order page on B&H Photo shows the 64 GB model retailing for $299, while the price point of the 32 GB version is as yet known.
