Honor 6A relaunches in Europe with a “Pro” fingerprint sensor

Huawei's millennial-targeting brand Honor has launched a 'new' low-budget smartphone in Europe. The Honor 6A Pro appeared on Honor's official Italian site earlier today, but if you've been paying attention to the Chinese OEM's recent release schedule, you might have seen the "Pro" a couple of times before.

The Honor 6A Pro is essentially the same as the standard Honor 6A which launched in China back in May and later in India as the Honor Holly 4. The rebranded device has a sandblasted metal body that comes in Gold, Silver, or Grey, and sports a 5.0-inch display with a 720p resolution.

As a refresher, the dual-sim phone is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor backed by 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage (expandable up to 128 GB) and a 3020 mAh battery. It also packs a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP selfie shooter, and runs Android Nougat out of the box.

Editor's Pick

What makes the launch a little strange is that European consumers can already buy the Honor 6A, as the phone launched in Germany in July and later made its way to other European countries including the UK.

So what makes this version so "Pro"? That'll be the fingerprint sensor that was conspicuously missing from the European model of the Honor 6A. Otherwise, the two are absolutely identical.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed by Honor, but if you're in Italy and looking to pick one up you can grab it through Three Italy on contract starting from €5 a month with a €49 upfront cost via the button below.
