- Huawei has revealed the Mate 20 Lite at IFA, complete with four cameras.
- Huawei's latest smartphone also offers a Kirin 710 chipset and 4GB of RAM.
- The phone continues Huawei's trend of using AI branding for various features.
The Huawei Mate 20 isn't officially launching at IFA 2018, but the Chinese company has revealed the cheaper Mate 20 Lite in Berlin instead.
True to the TENAA filing, we've got a phone with a vertically stacked dual camera setup and fingerprint scanner, all located in a distinctive strip. As for core specs, expect a Kirin 710 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 6.3-inch notched full HD+ display (2,340 x 1,080), and a 3,750mAh battery with 18 watt charging.

Moving to the photography field, Huawei's latest phone offers a 20MP+2MP pairing on the back, and a 24MP+2MP combination for selfies. The company is pushing AI branding here as usual, claiming support for 200 different scenarios in eight categories via the front cameras, and 500 scenarios in 22 categories via the rear cameras.
Huawei is also touting real-time HDR previews, QMoji (Huawei's shameless take on Animoji), and Apple-style studio lighting via the front cameras. The rear cameras have a few standout features too, namely smart composition (helping users frame their shots) and 480fps slow-motion. In the case of the smart composition feature, it's unclear if this is just a camera grid or something more interactive and helpful.

The company's AI push doesn't stop at the camera, as we have an AI shopping assistant, AI Game Suite, and AI noise cancellation. The shopping assistant seems like the same AR-enabled shopping experience on other phones, and the AI Game Suite simply prioritizes gaming-related processes and blocks notifications while gaming.
The AI noise cancellation feature seems like your run-of-the-mill noise cancellation at first glance. But the feature also puts your call on hold instead of dropping it when connectivity is lacking. And once the network signal improves, Huawei says the phone will automatically reconnect the call.
Other Mate 20 Lite features include USB Type-C connectivity, NFC, a headphone jack, and EMUI 8.2 atop Android 8.1.

Expect the phone to go on sale in the U.K. at Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone, and EE for 379 pounds (~$493). We've asked for details regarding pricing and availability in other countries, and will update the article accordingly.
