What’s new on Netflix in July 2019 – Stranger Things Season 3 and more

July is here, and so is the latest rundown of new and returning classic films and TV on Netflix, along with new original movies and TV shows that are only found on Netflix. That includes the third season of the most popular Netflix original show, Stranger Things.

Here's a look at some of the highlights of the new and original additions on Netflix for July 2019, followed by the full list of the new shows and movies on the streaming service this month, plus what's leaving Netflix in July as well.

July 4 – Stranger Things (Season 3)

Netflix is going all out for the third season of Stranger Things. It's been promoting it like a summer blockbuster movie, complete with promotional tie-in products. The latest 8-episode season of the sci-fi/horror show not only starts on July 4, but the show itself is set in the summer . . . the summer of 1985, that is. The group of kids that has battled creatures from the Upside Down in Hawkins, Indiana are out of school, and they are also starting to grow up a bit more. However, there always seems to be extra-dimensional threats that keep popping up that require them to stick together and defeat.

July 26 – Orange is the new Black (Seventh and final season)

One of Netflix's first original shows is finally ending this month with its seventh season. The last season of the acclaimed dramedy will focus a lot of time on Piper as she finally leaves Litchfield Prison and has to deal with life on the outside world for the first time in a long time. However, we will also see how the other women inmates of Litchfield Prison deal with their own issues as they continue their sentences.

July 25 – Another Life (Season 1)

We love hard science fiction, especially when it's done well. Another Life is a series that looks like it may offer that kind of storyline. It follows the crew of a spaceship, the Salvare, which has been assigned to investigate the origins of an alien artifact that has appeared on Earth. It sounds like what they might find on that journey is very unexpected. The cast includes Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff as the commander of this crew.
