  • Current stable version: Android 10
  • When will the Galaxy Z Flip get Android 11? September 2020 (estimated)

Exactly a week into its launch, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is already receiving its first software update. It adds a camera feature that was previously missing from the foldable phone.

According to SamMobile, the new Galaxy Z Flip software update is now rolling out in the US and brings the Single Take mode to the camera. The feature was supposed to be available on the phone out of the box. However, it looks like Samsung omitted to add it in time for shipping. This could be because the Z Flip is already in high demand and Samsung is pushing out as many units as it can, even if they don't have the promised feature loaded upfront.

Nevertheless, the software update carrying the Single Take mode is reportedly rolling out to all unlocked Galaxy Z Flip variants. The camera feature allows you to capture multiple photos and video clips from the two rear sensors at the same time. You can then go into the image gallery to choose your favourite shot or clip.

Alongside the new camera mode, the update adds the February 2020 security patch to the Galaxy Z Flip. There are some stability improvements and bug fixes also in there. You can download the OTA update from going into Settings > Software update on the phone.
