Deal: Alexa-powered Amazon Echo can now be yours for just $99.99 (normally $179.99)

If you have been thinking of getting the Amazon Echo, now is the time to do so. The Alexa-powered speaker normally retails for $179.99, but can now be yours for just $99.99. To get the $80 discount, you have to place your order within the next two weeks or so, as the deal is only valid until September 4. Both black and white versions of the device are available, which you can get via the button below.

As to why Amazon has decided to offer a substantial discount on the popular Echo device, there could be several reasons. It might just want to increase sales, or maybe it's clearing stock in order to prepare for the launch of a new device. We have heard a few rumors suggesting that Amazon is working on a successor to the Echo, which will make its debut later this year. It will reportedly be shorter as well as slimmer with rounded edges and would obviously go head to head with the Apple HomePod, which will be released in December.

In addition to the Echo, other smart speakers with Alexa on board are also on sale. The Amazon Tap can be yours for $99.99 (was $129.99), while the Echo Dot has only received a $5 discount, bringing its price down to $44.99. If you're in the market for a new e-reader, you'll be happy to hear that all Kindles are $20 off until August 26 too.
