At the beginning of the month, Lenovo took the wraps off the Moto G5S and G5S Plus. Today, the two smartphones have officially been launched in India. Both models will go on sale in the country starting today at 11:59 pm IST.
The G5S Plus will set you back Rs. 15,999 and will be available exclusively from Amazon and at Moto Hub offline stores in two color options: Lunar Gray and Blush Gold. It's smaller brother, on the other hand, will cost Rs. 13,999 and will be available at leading large format retailers across the country, in addition to Amazon and the Moto Hub stores. You'll be able to get it in either Lunar Gray or Fine Gold.
If you decide to opt for the Moto G5S Plus, you can take advantage of quite a few different launch offers. These include a discount worth Rs. 1,000 if you exchange your old device, up to 80 percent off Kindle books (up to Rs. 300), no cost EMI on all credit cards, and up to 50 GB additional data on Jio's 4G network. You can also get your hands on Motorola's sports headphones valued at Rs. 1,599 for just Rs. 499.
New patent points towards self-healing displays from Motorola
As a refresher, the Moto G5S sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset. It has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, which you can expand with a microSD card in case you need more.
The device is equipped with a 16 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus, while the front-facing selfie snapper features a 5 MP sensor. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery with TurboPower support, which promises to provide up to five hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. Other things worth mentioning are a metal body, a fingerprint scanner located on the front, and Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
Moving on to the Moto G5S Plus, the device comes with a larger 5.5-inch Full HD display and a more powerful Snapdragon 625 chipset. It also has 4 GB of RAM but offers more storage at 64 GB, which is expandable. You'll find a dual-camera setup on the back with two 13 MP sensors and an 8 MP selfie snapper up front.
The smartphone features a metal body and is more or less identical to its smaller brother in terms of design. It also has a front-mounted fingerprint scanner that supports gestures and runs the same version of Android.
