Original article, June 11, 2019 (07:12 AM ET): The Xiaomi Mi Band series is one of the most popular wearable devices around, and for good reason. The fitness band adheres to the Xiaomi way of offering plenty of features at a reasonable price. We'd heard murmurings of a Mi Band 4 recently, but the Chinese brand officially launched its next budget fitness tracker today.
True to the rumors, we're looking at a larger, color AMOLED screen (0.95 inches) here compared to the Mi Band 3's monochrome display (0.78 inches). We've also got a 5ATM water resistant design (down to 50 meters), a six-axis sensor, AI assistant functionality (via Xiaomi's Xiao AI assistant), and a heart-rate monitor.
Other noteworthy features include alarm functionality, a sedentary reminder, sleep tracking, notification mirroring, smart home integration, and Bluetooth 5.0.
The standard version packs a 135mAh battery that should last for up to 20 days of battery life, while the Mi Band 4 NFC offers a 125mAh battery that delivers up to 15 days of juice. By comparison, the Mi Band 3 offered a 110mAh battery that also lasts for a claimed 20 days.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 starts at 169 yuan (~$24), but you can also splash out 229 yuan (~$33) for the Mi Band 4 NFC. The latter model, as the name suggests, offers NFC capabilities for speedy payments. There's no word on a wider release just yet, but you can check out the Mi Band 3 on Amazon via the button below.
