LG V20 now available in Canada, unlocked version coming to U.S. in November

LG V20 review-8

Fans of the LG V20 in the Great White North are now able to get their hands on the latest and greatest from South Korea's other smartphone manufacturer. The LG V20 is available north of the border at both Wind Mobile and through Videotron. Meanwhile, unlocked V20s will be on sale in the U.S. in early November.

Canada

Unfortunately for our Canadian friends, conversion rates ain't what they used to be, so the V20 will set you back a substantial sum. Videotron has it outright for CAD$1,029.95 and Wind manages to just keep it under a grand at CAD$999.

There are also several options for contract-based V20 ownership. Videotron has the V20 starting at CAD$249.95 on a monthly plan worth CAD$79.95 for 24 months. Wind Mobile will let you walk away with a V20 for CAD$349 on a CAD$25/month plan.

Fortunately, those that buy the V20 in Canada are also entitled to a free pair of B&O Play H3 headphones to make use of the V20's excellent Quad DAC. If you need a quick primer on what a DAC is and why four of them is better than one, take a look at Rob Triggs' excellent explainer.

U.S.

If you haven't already pulled the trigger on a carrier-locked V20 in the U.S. you'll be pleased to know that unlocked versions will be arriving in early November. Online retailers including Newegg and B&H Photo are taking pre-orders now.

Both B&H and Newegg have a $799.99 price tag on the unlocked V20. While this is admittedly high, it's still cheaper than the outright prices asked by some U.S. carriers. U.S. pre-orders will also score a free pair of B&O headphones as well as a LG G Pad 7.0 tablet. Newegg will also gift you a 10,050 mAh Orico Quick Charge 3.0 Powerbank.

Newegg is shipping the V20 on November 11 while B&H promises availability at the "beginning of November". You'll need to pre-order by November 20 in both cases to get the free headphones though.

What are your thoughts on the V20? What is the best phone around right now?
