A new photo just hit the internet of a man holding what appears to be a Huawei Mate 20 Pro as he takes a subway ride. You can scroll down a bit to see the photos, but let's talk about this whole "subway rider with unreleased phone" trend for a second.
Recently, we saw multiple shots of the Google Pixel 3 XL which were taken on a subway train, and now we have the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. These are easily two of the most exciting smartphones that will see a release in 2018, and they've both been leaked in the same fashion.
Granted, it could totally be a coincidence, but it does seem rather suspect.
Anyway, here are the two images the subway-riding photographer caught, via SlashLeaks:
The front of the device looks rather indistinct, but the back of the device is very clearly the same as the leaked renders of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The Twilight coloring and the triple-camera squircle setup all match up.
If you look closely you can see some sort of barcode sticker on the back of the phone, most likely signifying its tester/prototype status. You'll also notice a whole lot of fingerprint smudges.
What do you think? Is this a legit photo of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro? And what's with this subway train leak trend? Sound off in the comments!
